This can be difficult to answer without looking at the job.
How do I maintain my pontoon?
It’s important to keep your pontoons in good shape. One thing you can do to extend your pontoon’s lifespan is by cleaning it.
Pontoons also need to be regularly inspected for barnacle build-up and structural damage from the daily wear and tear of people walking on them or using too much force when pushing off with their boards. This kind of problem can lead directly to bigger issues in need of repair if left unchecked long enough. We recommend performing regular inspections so you don’t miss any important cracks or breaks before they become more serious problems.

A timber jetty is a fixed structure used for walkways and docking on the water. A floating pontoon is a floating dock that can also be used for mooring boats, jet skis, etc. It moves up and down with the tides, while a timber jetty can get submerged during high tide.

What’s the average life span of a seawall?
With regular maintenance, a seawall can last between 30-35 years. Galvanized seawalls last a little longer. Without any kind of maintenance, a seawall can last up to 20 years.
How do I maintain the integrity of my seawall?
You can’t control all aspects of your seawall, but by conducting regular visual inspections you will be able to stay on top and maintain its good condition. Cracks that need repairs should always receive priority because they could lead to bigger problems down the line.
Your seawall is constantly being pressed by large amounts of water. This pressure can come both from the actual sea and ground saturation, so it’s important to relieve this regularly for your structure to not be damaged over time.
To keep your water pressure normal, you need to make sure that there are no clogged up or debris in the seawall’s weep holes. If these areas become blocked by dirt and leaves, it can prevent easy flow which will lead to a buildup of water pressure that can damage the seawall.
